These crispy air fryer Brussels sprouts are cooked to perfection in just 10 minutes and are tossed in a sweet and spicy bang bang sauce that goes great with most main course meals.

I have found that this air fryer recipe is the best way to make cooked Brussels sprouts. The best part is that by air frying, not only are they healthier without the added oil (compared to deep frying foods), but cooking becomes hassle free! The bang bang sauce is absolutely delicious and also goes great on these grilled shrimp and chicken wings too. I have found that I like the crispy texture using this method and it’s quicker to achieve than with our traditional oven-baked bang bang Brussels sprouts.
This is the perfect side dish to serve with cajun turkey, smoked chicken leg quarters, or next to a big juicy bbq tomahawk steak!

Substitutions and Variations
- Frozen sprouts – Thaw them completely and pat dry on paper towels. The cooking time may need adjustment.
- Oven Baked – use my other bang bang brussels recipe if you would like to try them out in the regular oven.
- Sweeter – add a little honey or maple syrup to the sauce.
- Spicier – use red pepper flakes, cayenne pepper, or more sriracha in the sauce.

🔪 Instructions:
PREP: Trim the stems off and tear off any loose leaves.

Step 1: Slice in half. If the Brussels are larger, cut them into quarters.

Step 2: Place them in a large mixing bowl and coat with olive oil.

Step 3: Add the Brussels sprouts to the air fryer basket in a single layer or onto your air fryer tray.

Step 4: Air fry for 6-8 minutes at 400 degrees F. Shake the basket and continue cooking for another 4-5 minutes.
Pro Tip: For easy cleanup, use parchment paper liners in the bottom of the air fryer basket.

Step 5: Whisk the remaining ingredients together in a small bowl to make the bang bang sauce.

Step 6: Spoon ½ cup of the sauce over the Brussels and toss to coat. Return to the air fryer and cook for 2-3 more minutes until the sauce has caramelized and the sprouts are slightly golden brown and tender.
SERVE: Drizzle with more sauce or serve the extra sauce on the side.

Recipe Tips for Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts
- Avoid overloading the air fryer. You want the hot air to be able to circulate to get the best crispy Brussels sprouts. If there’s too many in there at one time, they take longer to cook and the excess moisture will steam them instead of having the crunch factor. If needed, cook in batches.
- Some like to toss the Brussels in the sauce at the beginning, but I have found that they get a little soggy. If you choose to make them this way, omit the cooking oil.
- The sauce is safe to eat without cooking. If desired, air fry the sprouts until they are done. Then toss in the sauce or serve the sauce on the side.
- Depending on the size of the sprouts, some may take longer to cook.
Fun Fact
One cup of Brussels sprouts offers almost 4x the amount of Vitamin C that an orange has.

Recipe FAQs
Store leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for 1 month.
We recommend reheating in the oven or air fryer to re-crisp them again. Microwaving will make them a little softer.
