This Oreo Milkshake is intended to be enjoyed immediately upon serving. None of the ingredients used and combined to make this decadent milkshake will hold up in storage. Absolutely!! In fact, I’ve dedicated an entirely separate recipe for this purpose. This Spiked Milkshake with Oreos transforms a delicious milkshake into an adult-friendly treat that you can serve to guests or enjoy with your other half as an after-dinner treat or weekend indulgence.
This Oreo milkshake recipe is a decadent milkshake made with creamy vanilla ice cream, crushed Oreo cookies, and milk. The milkshake is then garnished with whipped cream, Oreo cookies (either whole or crumbled), and chocolate syrup drizzle.
- If you love a thicker coating on the inside of your milkshake glass then try a hot fudge sauce which will provide a thicker drizzle than the chocolate syrup.
- 2 cups of ice cream is the equivalent of half of a standard half-gallon container that you’ll find in stores.
- Make sure that you use glasses that are not warm from recent washing as this will melt your ice cream faster. I actually recommend that you chill your glasses in the freezer to help hold up your milkshake while you enjoy it. Just don’t forget about your glasses in the freezer – you only need to chill them for approximately 30 minutes but make sure that the glasses are at room temperature and that you aren’t placing warm glasses straight into the freezer.
- Serve your milkshakes in normal tall drinking glasses or use a mason jar with decorative paper straws for an added visual effect.
- If you enjoy a smoother Oreo Milkshake then add your oreo cookies to your blender prior to adding the other ingredients and pulse till they’ve reached a finer consistency that is to your liking.
