20 Christmas Wreaths to Make

Winter is the one time of year that I fall in love with wreaths everywhere I turn. I don’t typically make or display wreaths, but when Christmas comes around, all bets are off. In recent years, I have been buying or making real evergreen wreaths – the scent and natural beauty are so appealing to me. I also have several other wreaths that I pull out each year. Last year about this time, I was sitting on my couch when my cousin sent me a message asking about a jingle bell wreath and berry wreath I made way back before I had kids. I literally lifted up my phone to the wall behind me and snapped pictures of the wreaths to show her they were still going strong! I thought I’d share these two wreaths with you today, as well as a collection of other beautiful Christmas wreaths to make. May they inspire a little wreath crafting in your home!!

To make this berry wreath, I used acrylic paint to cover a styrofoam wreath form in red color. Then, I snipped off all of the faux berries from a pile of craft store stems, leaving ½″ – 1″ of stem attached. I poked each berry into the wreath form, using a bit of white glue where needed to hold the berries in place. A satin bow is tied around the bottom of the wreath. This wreath has been on display each Christmas for more than 10 years with just a few minor repairs.

My jingle bell wreath is small and adorable! I spray painted a wreath from with silver spray paint and then layered bells onto the form using hot glue. Hot glue and styrofoam don’t get along too great – I think you can purchase cooler hot glue guns specifically to use with styrofoam, but I made it work long ago before I knew about such things. This wreath requires re-glueing of a few bells each year, but it has also been part of the decor for more than 10 years. I purchased the bells in bulk containers from Michael’s long ago – I remember them being a bit pricey, but that’s what coupons are for! Now, onto some DIY wreath inspiration from others!
