I’ve finished up all my PR&P sewing and I CANNOT WAIT to show you my final design on Friday!! I’ve moved on to some quick, fun sewing projects. First up, I sewed another Carousel Top for Liv using the rest of the pink and grey knit I used for Grace’s “Sparkle and Shine” outfit I shared last week. Since she has been wearing the polka dot version several days a week, I thought I’d better make her some more for variety!
This time, I didn’t do the keyhole cutout in the back, but I most definitely still did the cute gathers on the sleeves, front shoulder seams, and the front center. These details are what takes this shirt from regular tee to stylish, girl’s top. Love it!
I used stay tape in the shoulder seams this time; last time, I used ribbon – either are suggested in the pattern. Olivia complained that the stay tape was “poking” her, but I was able to trim it away enough that it no longer bothers her.
I have many more of these tops on my to-do list. Just ordered a pile of knits for the girls to sift through and choose patterns for tops and leggings!!
Still highly recommend this sweet pattern!! – you can find the Carousel Top pattern at Go To Patterns . I also love the Parisian Top, designed by Andrea.

This is super duper cute!! Have you tried Wonder Tape for seam stabilizing? I love it because it washes away but is there when you need it for sewing.

So adorable…I need to make this top still! I’ve got plenty of fabric from Girl Charlee…now to pick the best one 😉

Great job on the shirt! I admire people who can sew with knits so much. One day I will conquer it… I hope the new walking foot (and sewing machine) I ordered last night will help! Agreed with Mae. Joann’s has lots of solids but almost no prints in knit. I checked Monday. 🙁

Way to be on top of things! A great basic top& that fabric looks really soft. I need to find some great knits online, joann by me just isn’t cutting it on the knits. :/
