In this time of high stress and uncertainty, laughter is some of the very best medicine. If you are living on planet Earth right now, I am sure you know that homemade face masks have taken the craft world by storm. Everyone with the slightest inkling to look at a sewing machine is considering whether she or he can join the sewists of the world and whip up a face mask or two. That said, I’m certain you will die laughing at this hilarious face mask sewing parody.
No sew masks from t-shirts and quick stand-in masks made out of leggings have blown up on social media. Seasoned seamstresses are competing to determine which is the fastest face mask pattern to sew so that they can make them in bulk. Those who have never sewn have finally found a cause to bust out the sewing machine they got way back when and have never taken it out of the box. As such, Kay Pruitt has brought the sew-ees and sew-nots together with this hilarious face mask sewingp skit about “how easy it is” to sew a face mask.
At first glance, I thought I was watching a typical how to video, but I quickly realized this was not your average seamstress. From the scene cut in the beginning where she comes back with about a thousand bandages on her fingers, to sewing her own shirt sleeve into the sewing machine, this parody will have you in tears all the way through. “We’re not going for perfection here, we’re going for PROtection,” she says and you have GOT to see the “mask” she’s holding up at this point. Here you are:
Truly amazing, right? Thank you, Stephnie Weir, for that much needed comic relief.
