Mmmmm. I do love my coffee. Nothing gives me quite the same comforting, indulgent feeling as a cup of coffee. I started drinking coffee in college when my love interest/now husband began suggesting that we meet “to study” at the on-campus coffee shop. We’d sit in there for hours with our books spread out in front of us, and I’d tease him for his overuse of elaborate vocabulary words in all his political science papers while he would tease me for adding more sugar, more chocolate, and more whipped cream to my coffee just so I could choke it down and pretend I was cool enough to drink coffee. It kind of became our thing. Coffee together. It’s still our thing. I’ve gone through all kinds of phases with my coffee drinking – from the overly sugared to straight black to shots of espresso.
I was especially excited when I had the opportunity to review Maxwell House International, and I’ll tell you why. When I was young, my mom kept a container of Maxwell House International in her cupboard. I didn’t drink coffee then, but I knew it was her special coffee, and that’s how I’ll always think of the product. Years later, when I was teaching children with autism and spent significant amounts of time in one particular kindergarten classroom, the teachers reminded me of this special treat. In their teeny tiny supply room, they managed to stash a microwave, mugs, and a can of Maxwell House International amidst the construction paper and glue sticks. During recess, when another teacher was on duty, we would head into the supply room and mix up our fancy mugs of coffee. It was such a treat to sneak away for a 5-minute break in the middle of the crazy workday and it reminded me of my mom keeping her special instant coffee stash. It’s amazing how that cup of coffee can provide instant enjoyment no matter where you are.
Today I wanted to show you a couple new ways you can use this instant cafe style coffee. First of all, I can’t believe I never thought of this before, but to add a bit of romance to your regular cup of coffee you can use a few spoonfuls in lieu of creamer/sweetener and it tastes delicious. It’s a great way to create your own flavorful, café style coffee beverage. Plus, hello, extra caffeine!! For another tasty twist on your coffee, try blending ½ C. milk, ¼ C. Maxwell House International, and 1 C. ice. You get a blended coffee frappe drink that’s creamy, frothy, and sweet. It’s so good and has fewer calories than your typical coffee house blended coffee!
Of course, Maxwell House International is always good stirred into hot water for an instant cup of flavored, creamy coffee anywhere or anytime (I’m thinking camping, hotel rooms, work, etc.). And guess what? You can grab a free sample or coupon while they last – just visit Maxwell House International by clicking here. ALSO, leave a comment for a chance to win a $100 Visa gift card, compliments of Maxwell House International. To enter, please tell me your favorite drink, your favorite place to drink it, and which flavor of Maxwell House International you would like to try? There are so many–including
French Vanilla, Vanilla Nut, Hazelnut, Suisse Mocha, Vanilla Caramel, and Café Vienna.
Good Luck!!

I like a classic American cup of coffee on a cold afternoon (after working in the garden!) with creamer or milk. I would think that the Café Vienna might do well at that moment too!

I like my coffee hot & strong! I’d love to try the Vanilla Caramel flavor from Maxwell House. If I can’t be at the beautiful Oregon coast or up in the mountains, I enjoy the solitude of my living-room (or visiting with a friend over coffee).
