Ottoman Makeover
Welcome to Day Three of the Creative Chicks Parade! Are you enjoying all the inspiration? I sure am! Today, let’s link up our Furniture Fixup projects. I’m looking forward to seeing what you’re doing!
As for me, I used this parade to gain just enough motivation to reupholster a footstool that has been sitting in the garage for the last 15 years – no joke! Finally, my poor husband can stop raising his eyebrows at me when I say “no, I don’t want to get rid of it, I’m going to recover it someday.” In the interest of time management, I’ll just give you a quick picture step-by-step. If you have any questions, please ask!!
We’ll start with the before: ewwwww!!!!
Romper Frustrations
I’m on a romper craze. My dining room table is covered with fabric, gadgets, thread, and scraps. I put together the romper in the collage a few days ago by sewing the bottom of an old onesie into the crotch to make a snap crotch. The desire to make legitimate (i.e., without old onesie crotches sewn in) rompers overtook me and I picked up snaps and a special tool from Joann’s and have since become totally frustrated with trying to get it to work right. I just don’t really have the patience for gadgets. I ended up cutting the whole bottom off of a third romper and calling it a “dress.” I abandoned the dining room disaster and spent the last few nights on the couch with my husband watching movies, eating popcorn, drinking soda, and dumping boxes of Junior Mints and Reese’s pieces down my throat. And I tell you, it DID make it better. I’m still fighting the urge to completely abandon rompers. Wishing you a productive week and the ability to walk away from a frustrating project when needed!
