I was beyond excited when Riley Blake Designs asked me to be part of their Design Team! Today, my first project is up over on their blog and I’m a bit giddy because I love it so much and I am so honored to work with Riley Blake Designs. I was browsing their fabrics, looking for inspiration, when I came across the Country Girls fabric line by Tasha Noel – love everything about this line of fabric! The navy, aqua, red, and pink colorways and the sweetest little pictures! I thought it was perfect for my own little country girls.
I’m sharing the full EASY tutorial for this adorable (if I do say so myself) “I’m Running Away” knapsack, so go check it out!
I also made a sweet, little Country Girls dress out of the Country Main fabric. The idea was to have Addie wearing the dress while playing runaway with the knapsack, but she had other ideas about that, so instead we have dress form pictures! The dress is a quick hack from a basic bodice block with the neckline chopped off and spaghetti straps sewn in.
I widened the back piece by 2″ and added shirring across for easy dressing. I think I probably could have even just added 1″ of width and the dress would still pull on easily (i.e., it’s a little big).
This crochet trim is also from Riley Blake and coordinates beautifully with the Country Girls fabric line. I’m always a sucker for crochet trim. (Plus, then I don’t have to hem!!) Alrighty! Would love for you to hop over and check out my knapsack project over at the Riley Blake blog today!

That is really adorable! I love the crossed and tied straps with the shirring. =) And the fabric is totally darling!
I love crochet trim too, although it tends to shrink and wrinkle on me and look not-so-pretty once it’s washed.
And the knapsack! My girls would probably just pull the dowels out and play with them right now, but someday… =) I love those.

Thank you, Tasha! I cannot get over how much I LOVE your fabric line. We live out in the country and your designs just put into picture all my little dreams for our family. Thank you!!! I hadn’t seen the full print on the Country Main when I ordered the fabric to make the knapsacks – once the fabric came I saw the little knapsack scene on the fabric, too – totally meant to be! And yes! I’m on Instagram – girlinspired1 – and you are welcome to share away!
