With all the spring gardening going on over here, I couldn’t help but surprise the girls with some fun dirt pudding cups the other day. An oldie, but a goodie – chocolate pudding, gummy worms, Oreo crumble dirt, and you’ve got some happy little snackers.
For a super easy presentation, I popped the packaged pudding cups into miniature clay pots that I purchased for 50 cents a piece at my local nursery. After pulsing a handful of Oreos in the Cuisinart, I sprinkled the tops of the pudding cups with gummy worms and cookie dirt. I couldn’t handle a project that only took 5 minutes to put together, so I made silly “garden signs” to stick in the dirt cups.
I incorporated the teaching of the very educational song “Nobody likes me, everybody hates me, guess I’ll go eat worms…” when I handed the girls their treats! They got a kick out of it – and my oh-so-self-confident children picked it right up, “Nobody hates me, everybody likes me….”
To make the garden signs, print out the free printable by clicking here. Then, cut circles or use a 2″ scalloped circle punch to cut out each label. Dab a bit of hot glue onto the back of each label and stick on a toothpick or lollipop stick. And you’re all set – dirt pudding at its finest! These would be so fun and easy for the kids to assemble themselves, too! Have fun and happy gardening!

You are too good Stef! I would just be glad to get the gardening done (but I hate gardening) much less make a treat that goes wth the theme of gardening. Those pictures are so good and book worthy! Sorry to say it again–you have such a knack for making everything look beautiful–like the rootbeer floats yesterday. You are a pro and so very talented in so may areas!
