Creamy Pumpkin Soup

Saute the onions in the oil until soft.
Add in the garlic and spices and saute until fragrant - another minute or two.
Add in the pumpkin, broth, water, remaining seasonings. Bring to a simmer and cook for 20-30 minutes.
Add cream to the soup and taste it; sweeten with brown sugar to suit your taste.
For ultra creamy and smooth pumpkin soup, transfer to a blender or use an immersion blender and process til smooth.
Transfer soup back to the pot to rewarm, as needed.
I highly recommend frying some sage leaves in butter. They make such a yummy garnish. Fry a minute til crisp.
