These party meatballs make for an easy meal or delicious appetizer! All you need are savory meatballs, grape jelly, and Heinz chili sauce for my secret recipe that guests love!
Place the meatballs into the crock of the slow cooker.
Pour chili sauce and grape jelly over the meatballs - you can swirl them together over the meatballs or simply dump them in and stir after they have been cooking for awhile.
Place the lid on the crockpot and cook on LOW for 4 hours or HIGH for 2 hours. Stir the meatballs and sauce together after the first hour.
For thicker sauce, vent the lid of the crockpot and continue cooking for 15-30 minutes until some of the liquid has evaporated and the sauce has thickened.
Serve with toothpicks straight out of the crockpot, or plate and garnish with chopped parsley.
Notes
Storage: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Freeze for up to 3 months. (If using previously frozen meatballs, it is not recommended that you re-freeze these, but homemade meatballs can be frozen).Notes: Our oven baked meatball recipe yields 24 large meatballs or 48 smaller “appetizer” size meatballs. If you are preparing this dish for a party (it’s GREAT as a potluck dish or gameday dish!), the smaller meatballs are fantastic. To serve straight out of the crockpot, place toothpicks in some of the meatballs and then provide toothpicks alongside the crockpot. Keep the crockpot on the “warm” setting after they have been heated through with the initial cook time.Frozen or thawed meatballs can be placed in the crockpot. If you are using homemade meatballs, you will want to pre-cook them. This recipe is not intended for raw meatballs.
