Guess what? There is another must-have girl’s pattern that I’m sharing today – shocker, right? – it’s the Tumble Tee pattern, designed by Rachael Gander from imagine gnats! You know my girls love to get all gussied up, but most of the time they literally tumble around in their super comfy, relaxed clothes. (Except Addison, that girl sleeps in her silk gowns, no joke). When I saw the Tumble Tee pattern, I knew it would be a great staple pattern. Also, I have the biggest pile of knits stacking up and I love a quick pattern that I can bust out on the serger. (you don’t need a serger, of course, but it sure makes it easy)
Liv and Grace fought over the first Tumble Tee that I made, and it was such an easy sew, I sewed up another in just a matter of minutes. Grace drilled me on where and how the shirt appeared so fast. She couldn’t understand that I made a second one in the amount of time that it took her and Olivia to carry out their argument over who should get the first shirt.
The Tumble Tee has a split pattern front, which is adorable, and lends itself to some awesome opportunities for pattern mixing. And then a single piece makes up the back. And that’s it! The all-in-one cap sleeves make for a cute, relaxed style and make the shirt even quicker to sew. There is also a dress version, which I will probably make later for my littlest dress wearer. It has even more opportunities for color blocking.
Both of the knits I used were from Girl Charlee and they are probably my two very favorite prints I’ve been hoarding. And what do you know? They look fabulous together!! So, that’s a wrap on my Tumble Tees Twinsies! You can purchase the Tumble Tee pattern here and check out some other versions floating around by following the links below!
