I did some quick sewing for myself between the craziness of PR&P sewing. A couple weeks ago, Andrea from Go To Patterns released the Casual Lady sewing pattern. When I heard that the proceeds from the pattern are headed toward a very special cause, I knew I wanted to help spread the word.
I sewed up this shirt the night before Easter and ended up wearing it all day on Easter.
It was a relatively quick sew, especially considering I don’t sew much for myself and this style top was new for me. I used a really lightweight knit, which was a little fussy to sew with, but I don’t think you can tell on the finished shirt. The fabric and the style make the top super comfortable – it’s long enough that I don’t have to worry about it riding up and the medium fit just how I like. The Casual Lady pattern also has a dress version, which you may have seen flying around the sewing blogs – it’s quite cute, too. I’m looking forward to making a few more of these shirts for the summer months – just waiting on my order of knits to arrive!!

I don’t have the best pictures here – it’s always a challenge to get pictures of myself. And I have no idea why I have my shoulders all raised up here, but I think you can still see the silhouette of the shirt. It’s cute, right? Read on for more information about the pattern:
The Casual Lady sewing pattern was designed specifically by Andrea Pannell of Go To Patterns to raise funds and awareness for global sex trafficking victims. Proceeds from this pattern will fund projects through She’s Worth It. Specifically, a sewing cooperative in India for single mothers escaping the sex trade industry as well as a safe house for children in Cambodia at risk of being trafficked. The goal is to raise $15000. You can see more details about the issue and the organizations being funded on Andrea’s blog.
Please consider purchasing this awesome sewing pattern to help Andrea blast through her fundraising goal!! The pattern is one you’ll use over and over and YOUR donation will directly impact the lives of young girls and women looking for hope and a better life. THANK YOU!!!!

So cute, and I’m sure you’ll get tons of wear out of it! I wear knit tops more than anything else – just so comfy and easy.

Lookin’ good! I love how it turned out! I love damask fabrics and the black and white will match with so much. I’ve been so excited about this pattern. 1. It is just so comfy and 2. It hugs real curves in just the right way.
