As the holidays approach, it’s nice to put together some gift ideas that are semi-handmade and are easy to create. Today’s project, these personalized photo albums, take just a few minutes to make and would be a perfect accompaniment to a gift of photographs, travel, or home decor. I think almost anyone – from kids to grandparents – would love their own personalized album. I created these albums as part of the November Cricut Design Space™ Star Challenge to make holiday crafts and gear. With a team focus on Winter Comfort, I don’t think there are many crafts projects that bring comfort like a photo album filled with picture treasures.
This project is so easy, it hardly warrants instructions. You will simply need a photo album in whatever size you like with a plain front cover and a sheet of vinyl in your desired color. Using your Cricut Design Studio software, create text or images that you’d like to use to personalize the photo album. A trip destination icon would be fun for a travel album or an image of a favorite hobby for a themed album. Cut the image(s) from the vinyl with your Cricut Explore and use a vinyl transfer sheet to place your design onto the album cover. That’s all there is to it!
For my albums, I used the text tool within the Cricut software and a couple different snowflake images available in the image gallery (just type “snowflake” into the search box!). Have fun with this project – it’s hard to go wrong and you’ve got to love a craft that takes only a few minutes to complete.
Stay tuned – Cricut has an AMAZING black Friday sale coming up! If you’ve been eyeing the Cricut Explore, you’re not going to want to miss this chance – I’ll have more info on the blog soon!

Hi, I just received a cricut explorer as a gift and know nothing about it quite yet but wanted to do this as one of my first projects. Was wanting to know what kind of vinyl you used and if you possibly have a link where you purchased it??… Thanks so much

Hi Alanna,
I’ve used the Cricut brand vinyl, which you can buy at Jo-Ann. I’ve also used vinyl from http://www.expressionsvinyl.com. Have fun!!!
