I’m still working out a few variations, but I thought you’d like to see my new tricks: shirring and rolled edges. The internet is an amazing amazing thing, my friends. Indeed, I did not even have to sort through one junk cupboard or drawer to find my serger manual – I simply googled “rolled hem” and within minutes, I put my little machine to work. The shirring took a bit longer to study up on, but so SO worth it. I did up a little ruffle dress like Addie’s birthday dress, but with a shirred bodice. And this little romper here? It might be my newest addiction. Who doesn’t love a romper to show off those roly poly baby thighs? As you can see from the pictures, I’m still playing around with strap variations. I’m also trying to perfect the snap closure bottom. Addie was not such a still model; she was too busy shouting at her daddy for his undivided attention and then running for the sprinkler.
I’m loving all your ideas for what you’d spend your $50 on. It’s not too late to enter the CSN giveaway – go here!!

This is adorable. My littlest one is 15 months and outgrowing all her summer outfits before summer is over (and when there’s very little left in the stores :P) I’m telling myself for the hundredth time that I have GOT to learn how to do shirring. How would you suggest doing the edges if, like me, you don’t have a Serger?

Any tips on cutting out the diaper area? That’s the part that always throws me and I’ve yet to come up with a fool proof template for even my non-diaper wearing one!
