Welcome to Day Three of the Creative Chicks Parade! Are you enjoying all the inspiration? I sure am! Today, let’s link up our Furniture Fixup projects. I’m looking forward to seeing what you’re doing!
As for me, I used this parade to gain just enough motivation to reupholster a footstool that has been sitting in the garage for the last 15 years – no joke! Finally, my poor husband can stop raising his eyebrows at me when I say “no, I don’t want to get rid of it, I’m going to recover it someday.” In the interest of time management, I’ll just give you a quick picture step-by-step. If you have any questions, please ask!!
We’ll start with the before: ewwwww!!!!

I linked a few items last night and now I’m going through the other submissions. I love this footstool! The fabric you chose is great. Finally, you can mark this one off of your list!

This looks great. I’m so impressed that you were able to rebuild everything. Sadly, I have several projects languishing like this as well.

Most of the furniture here are wooden and looks really durable. And also most of it are white.

I’m trying to figure out how to reupholster a couch (no starting small for me!), can i use the old buttons and if so, how would i best go about covering them with the new fabric?

Hi Sharon, I’m not sure I can help – I used the old buttons on a few reupholstery projects, but didn’t recover them – I just used them with the old fabric because it blended or was recessed enough not to matter. I think if you’re going to use the new fabric, I’d probably pick up some new buttons that are easy to cover and you won’t have to try to pry them apart to get the old fabric off. Good luck! Reupholstering a couch is no joke, but you’re going to LOVE it when you’re done!
