I hope you all had a wonderful Easter – it was a beautiful weekend spent with family for us. I’ve been thinking about some more ways to bring an extra bit of cheer into our world. Grand gestures are wonderful, of course, but I believe even the tiniest gesture can make a huge impact. One of my readers commented a while back that she believes a “random act of kindness” at the right moment can change a life and I completely agree.
I picked up a quilled flower craft kit for the girls and me. It’s an easy craft to do; even my four-year-old made some flowers. We assembled a bouquet and hot glued them onto floral wire stems.
We wrapped each stem with a little note, just a short phrase with a few encouraging words. The bouquet rides around in the car with us and we leave them on benches or stumps in well-trafficked parks or public areas like the library grounds, or on the table when we leave a cafe, places like that.
There’s no monetary value for the finder, but we think they will brighten someone’s day; perhaps the flower will lift someone’s spirits or the note will provide a bit of positivity at just the moment it’s needed. The girls continue to make flowers and we add them to our car stash – it’s a little thing, so simple to do, and I hope it makes people smile.
And I hope these pictures will brighten YOUR day… happy day…you are special…your smile is beautiful…spread joy…you can do anything…believe in yourself…just for you…

I love love love this idea. And I love those sweet little flowers. I always thought quilling was a rather tedious task but if your daughter can do it at 4 years of age, then surely I can figure it at 48 years of age. Ha! It’s just finding the paper here that is the problem. Will definitely be checking out the Instagram account of The Best Part. Best wishes, Tammy

I always thought it looked really tedious, too, Tammy, but it ended up being pretty easy and fun! Thanks for your sweet comment!

Love these flowers…where did you find the quilled flower craft kit at?

Hi Summer, I got them from a local fabric/craft shop called Beverly’s, but I think you can probably find them at the big craft chains, too!
