Skinny Jeans (and a GIVEAWAY!)

You know how much I love Peek-a-Boo Pattern Shop, right?  When Amy came out with the Skinny Jeans pattern, I was super excited!  In case you haven’t noticed, my girls have my petite genes and we are all about the skinny jeans.  Olivia, especially, has a hard time finding pants that fit as she gets taller, but is still slim enough to pull on 12-18 month pants.  I’m not even kidding.  When I got the Skinny Jeans pattern, I was too impatient to shop for stretchy denim; I wanted to try them right away! I was looking at the leftover remnant of that great grey/yellow fabric that I made my jacket out of last week and I thought it would look awesome in pants!  I had just enough for a 4T, which is Grace’s size and the fabric is just her style.  I totally love these pants!!

They have a flat front with faux fly and opening button front (if you wish…I didn’t) and an adjustable elastic back waistband.  Full, lined pockets in the front and pockets in the back, belt loops and great topstitching.  I went with a blue thread to add a little pizazz.  I thought the pattern would be time-consuming with all the pockets and the topstitching, but actually, I finished the whole pair in a few hours after the kids were in bed one evening.

Most importantly, Grace LOVES these pants.  I’m anxious to grab some more stretchy denim and make Olivia a couple pairs of new pants (she’s anxious, too!).

What do you think?  Do you want to try out this pattern, too?  Today, Peek-a-Boo Pattern Shop is giving one lucky reader their choice of FIVE PDF PATTERNS from the shop.  Woohoo!  Entry criteria for this giveaway is as follows (Please leave a comment for EACH entry):

I tried my hand at leggings last night. Used a double needle and it was great! I made three pairs. I probably should have tried harder to find an appropriately colored bobbin thread for one of the pairs, but that’s okay. She still loves them.

I I am currently sewing hats, scarves and mittens for homeless children shelters. I posted on Facebook( on my neighborhoods private site) that I needed materials (like sweaters and sweat shirts) to make these items. I had a wonderful turn out so needless to say, with all of the donated fabrics, I have plenty to make my projects for these kids. Yay!
I really love this little jacket.
